How to Get Rid of Oily Forehead in Men

Men’s Guide How to Get Rid of a Greasy Forehead

If you are suffering from oily skin, you already know how difficult it can be to fix.  It is not only going to increase your chances for getting pimples and zits, but it just doesn’t look good and can really make you start to feel self-conscious about it.  With that being said, you have probably wondered how it came to be that you actually had oily skin in the first place, as well as how you can get rid of it if you do have it.  Here is what you need to know about oily skin and how you can get rid of it and even prevent it only using all-natural products.

Why do You Have Oily Skin?

If you do suffer from oily skin, it is going to be due to the overproduction of sebum, which is going to be created by your sebaceous glands.  In case you were wondering, sebum is actually going to be a very oily substance that is made out of fats.  While it is not considered to be all bad, sebum is going to help your body to moisturize and protect your skin, even working to help keep your hair nice and shiny too.

Where you can get into trouble with sebum though, is going to be when your sebaceous glands start to create too much of it.  There are going to be several different reasons why your body can do this, but the main reasons are going to be due to genetics, your stress levels, and even hormone changes.  If this does happen to you, you will find that your skin will become much more difficult for you to manage.  With that being said, there are going to be some remedies that you can try in the comfort of your own home and that don’t require any type of expensive skin care regimen or prescription drugs.  Here are some of the best ways that you can try to fight oily skin from your home.

#1 – Try Washing Your Face

While it may seem extremely obvious, many people who are suffering from oily skin are not going to be washing their face on a daily basis.  If you have oily skin, you are going to want to make sure that you are able to wash your face at least two times per day.  With that said, be sure that you don’t overdo it either.  Try to avoid using any detergents or soaps that are harsher or harder on your skin.  Try to use a nice, gentle soap instead.  This can include an tea tree oil soap or even a glycerin soap as well.

#2 – Try Using Blotting Paper

In case you have not heard about blotting papers, they are going to be a very thin, small piece of paper that you can then use in order to blot away some of the excess oil that is on your face.  While it really isn’t going to help you to slow the production of oil from your sebaceous glands, it will help to minimize the amount of greasy, shiny skin that you have on your face.  What makes blotting papers even better, is going to be the fact that they are actually quite inexpensive and are available over the counter at most grocery stores.  Once you have them, all you need to do is use them as needed throughout your day.

#3 – Use Honey

If you only know honey as a sweet treat that you use in your teas, you may be surprised to find that honey is actually going to be one of nature’s very best skin remedies as well.  This is because of the antibacterial and antiseptic capabilities that it has.  What this means is that you can actually use honey in order to help get rid of your acne-prone and oily skin.

Honey works so well for oily skin as it is considered to be a natural humectant, meaning that it will keep your skin moist but not oily.  This happens as humectants are actually going to draw moisture out of your skin without replacing it with anything else.

In order to use honey to treat your oily skin and acne, all you need to do is spread a very thin layer (ideally you are using a raw honey) onto your face where your acne and oily skin is.  Once you have spread honey over the oily skin area, wait about 10 minutes and then rinse it off with warm water.

#4 – Give Cosmetic Clay a Try

Cosmetic clay, which is also going to be referred to as healing clay, is going to be used to help treat a multitude of different skin conditions, one of those being oily skin.  If you would like to try using a cosmetic clay, try French green clay, as it is considered to be a very popular treatment that you can do in the comfort of your own home to get rid of acne and oily skin.  French green clay is going to be extremely absorbent and actually come in a powder form.

In order to make a French green clay mask for yourself:

  1. Take roughly a teaspoon of the clay and combine it with rose water or filtered water until it begins forming into a pudding-like paste.
  2. Once you have the paste made to your liking, apply the mixture onto your face and allow it to remain there until it has completely dried.
  3. Once the clay has completely dried, use warm water to remove the clay from your face, making sure that you pat your face dry.

On a side note, you will find that clay masks are actually going to be much gentler when they are removed with water when compared to the peel-off masks.

When it comes to having oily skin, it can really be a pain to try and combat it.  While you are not able to tell your body to stop making your skin oily, when you use the methods above, you will be better equipped to combat it.
